School Program - Class Reading Rewards

The BOOKS Reading Rewards Program will allow you to set your own reading goals and earn rewards for achieving those goals.

We count TIME!

The amount of time you spend reading is much more important than counting the number of books you read.

• You use your reading log to record the amount of time you spend reading each day.
• Any adult can initial your reading log for you – a parent, an adult friend, your teacher or a librarian.
• It counts if an adult reads to you.
• Reading in school also counts!

Welcome to the new and improved
Reading Rewards Program for 2007-2008!

We have added some great new incentives for the program and made it more challenging too! For the new year of Reading Rewards we have made the program sequential to add new challenges for all you great readers out there! You start with Level 1 and work your way up, reaching new and exciting rewards as you increase your reading skills. You can only achieve one level per reading log and must progress through each level to reach the final goal of graduation!

*All prizes subject to change. Awards must be achieved in order (for example: You start by reading for 32 segments and receive two passes, you then read for 60 segments to receive the Sports Pack, etc.).

*Logs are not cumulative. The number of segments listed is the amount need to redeem logs.

After you graduate, keep checking www.booksprogram.com for new programs and the latest info on what is cool and fun to read as well as special offers! Graduates can begin the Reading Rewards program on June 1, 2008.

School Program- Class Reading Rewards Program

Teachers can now register their entire class for the Reading Rewards program. Classes work together as a team to earn up to two class field trips per school year to local attractions! Teachers help students keep track of their time reading. When every student in the class has completed their log for 120 15-minute segments, the teacher mails in all the logs and will receive passes to Roberson Museum and Science Center, Kopernik Observatory & Science Education Center, the Discovery Center, or the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. Classes can participate twice per school year, once in the fall/winter and once in the spring!
